I was so scared to bath Missy on my own when she was a baby that I never did it without the help of my husband. Granted, it meant she was lucky to get a bath once a week. Cian got a bath in the hospital before we left and then I have to admit that it was more of a cat’s lick he’s gotten since then!!!! I know….disaster.
Anyway with the gift of a fab Clevamana Apron bath towel I figured I’d give it a go myself with Cian, sure doesn’t the second child always get dropped on their head anyway…right?
The bath chair was acquired for us by my sister-in-law 🙂 Again I don’t think I could manage on my own without it. I know the public health nurse and midwives would not recommend using these but there’s no way I can hold a slippery baby on my own. Just remember to still always have a hold of the baby.
He does look a bit scared here, I know, but honest he enjoyed it, well as far as I can tell as he didn’t cry 🙂 Don’t know who I’m more proud of, Cian or myself.
Nope, I couldn’t mange a photo of the two of us until he was dressed. The towel fastens around your neck and drops down just like a kitchen apron. Then you can just pick up the baby and hold him against yourself without drowning your own clothes. The hood is then at the bottom which you lift up and wrap your little bundle of joy, who is hopefully not a screaming bundle.
One clean, dressed and happy baby till the next peed-on outfit (it lasted an hour!)
