It’s something we nearly all have to buy at some stage or another, baby gifts. Sometimes picking up some clothes for a few months ahead and for the right season seems the easiest option. But there’s a whole world of endless choices online, more specifically on Etsy. For those not familiar with Etsy, Etsy is an online marketplace allowing crafters sell handmade crafts or vintage items only. There are so many talented Irish crafters on Etsy selling beautiful pieces giving you the opportunity to buy local and give fabulous gifts.
I’ve picked out some of my favourites after doing a quick search on Etsy for baby gift ideas made in Ireland. Top tip: when searching narrow the Shop Location (on the left) to Ireland. That way you know your results are from Irish shops, and that will help with shipping costs.
A Rag Doll is perfect for a little girl to haul around everywhere with her. Elis from Tiny Kooka makes beautiful handsewn dolls like this one. From the doll’s description “It’s the perfect first baby doll: no loose parts, premium materials (European wool felt and anti allergic toy stuffing) and made with playing in mind, so tripple stitched for your peace of mind ”
Matching Hat & Cowl
Cowls are so handy for young ones, they are that little bit harder for Baby to remove themselves and loose. These grey with black flec matching pom pom hat and cowl are perfect for boys or girls. Made by myself 😉 along with plenty of other cosy pieces at Cosy by GG. The pieces are made from Acrylic yarn to avoid any reactions with baby. The hat can be made for any age.
Personalised Woodland Artwork
Woodland decor is the big “in” theme at the moment What could be more cute than a personalised piece of artwork for the little one’s nursery. Nicola from Rosa Lilla has so many ideas to choose from as well as custom orders. I love this little fox one. At €11.80 this makes for a lovely token present.
Me & Mini Me Hats
It’s back to Cosy by GG for my next favourite, can you tell I’m a little biased!!! Matching hats for Mum and Junior or Dad and Missy are a brilliant idea to spoil both baby and Mum or Dad. Greys, blues and browns are the current colours with custom orders for any other colour combos. €20
Organic Cotton Dress
Susan from Dolly Dotty Designs appears to have endless skills with frames, soft toys, clothes, bibs and much more filling her shop. My favourites are the organic cotton clothes. I have seen some of her matching pants, bib and hat and that is definitely top of my list. The current list which caught my eye is this very pretty dress. €27.50
There are loads of bibs out there, but not all are made in Ireland. So supporting a small time crafter also gives you a great unique gift. Rachel from Ashgate Crafts has a huge range of bibs, including bibs for dogs and dolls 🙂 I found it hard to just pick one, especially with Christmas ones, but who can resist a digger. €4.50
Personalised Sun Catchers
So I’ll let you in on a little secret, my next hobby HAS to be working with wood. I just love the look, the feel, the textures everything about wood. So the personalised suncatchers from Art Wood Ireland catch my eye for more than one reason. €45.00 with non-personalised options coming in cheaper.
So plenty of inspiration for your next baby gift purchase. Happy Shopping
